Folklore
Sleeve

Ottawa · Canada 2024 ~60 h

A full sleeve rooted in Slavic ornamental tradition — spirals, rosettes, and plant motifs rebuilt in a modern graphic language. Fourteen sessions over eight months. The client brought reference images of embroidery from their grandparents' village in Poltava.

Every element was drawn from scratch, no flash. The challenge: making ancient symbols feel contemporary without stripping them of meaning.

Brutalist
Study

Ottawa · Canada 2023 ~18 h

A chest piece translating the geometry of Soviet-era housing blocks into body art. Hard lines, impossible shadows, a kind of monument that doesn't belong anywhere except on skin.

Drawn during a period of personal exile from home. The brutalism here isn't nostalgia — it's reckoning.

Root

Europe / Ottawa 2020 — ongoing

An ongoing series of pieces exploring pre-Christian Slavic visual language. Each piece is unique — drawn to the person's individual story, body shape, and relationship to their roots.

The series began in Budapest in 2020 and continues at Archive Ottawa. Twelve complete pieces so far, two in progress.

Memory
Work

Ottawa · Canada 2025 ~10 h

Portrait work is rare in my practice — I do it only when the story behind the request has weight. This series of three pieces for one client: their mother, their first apartment, and a phrase she used to say.

Fine line, almost microscopic detail. The kind of work that demands the room to be quiet.
